Me? Original fic?

coragyps Fun fact. Up until two years ago, I didn't write fan fiction. Didn't want to. Thought it was too much effort to write characters that weren't my own. But a pair of my original characters have a kylux dynamic and while I was working on the earlier stories in the series, I just really wanted to write them. But I didn't want to do things out of order. So I decided, why not write Kylux instead and get it out of my system? Two years later, I still haven't gone back to original stuff.
And this is in large part thanks to the Kylux fandom. I got so many more hits and kudos on my first two fics than I ever expected. It just felt really good, so I started writing even more fanfics. And the ideas just kept coming and coming, especially as I got more involved in the fandom. I'm gonna keep up with writing fanfics, but I'm going to start with some original again too.
What's really nice is that it's going to be the same two characters that got me into writing Kylux. I decided to say fuck it and write their story now. As far as I know, this is going to be a 7+ book series. Their story is the second half, 20+ years after the first half so it'll make sense. I'd rather write in order, but I need to write this. Because it's my story and I can give the villains a happy ending if I want to.
In my original version of the story, the Hux-like character dies. He's killed by the Kylo character as part of his "redemption." Unfortunately, this breaks the Kyloish guy and he just disappears. It's a sad ending for them. The heroes though can accept this as they didn't really want to deal with him anyway. But after the last movie, I need them to be happy. I'm not sure how it's going to work out, but it's going to happen.
I wrote out a quick outline of a possible storyline. Because I realized I could basically remake the sequel trilogy and set it in my own universe. And why not? I can have what I wanted and maybe that's what someone else wanted to. I wrote out a brief outline and although similar, I think it's just different enough that it could work.
And the MC in this? She's gonna be the Kylo character's sister. I'll have to rework some stuff to make it work because initially, his mother died when he was 4 or 5 and there was no time for there to be another kid. So either she lives longer and has another kid or there's some shit with frozen embryos and a surrogate. And for the parents to have frozen embryos would make sense as they're both gay as fuck. I use the plot line of "bad guy manipulating embryos to make a powerful magic user" in the first half of the series so I don't want to use that again. But maybe I will. I might try to tie the two halves of the series together with the original bad guy kinda being the overarching bad guy and his influence is still felt even though he's dead.
I'm really excited to work on this. And I think I'm gonna plan the whole second half of the series out before I get to really writing it.
